Path to an Occupational Therapist

If you want a stable career with a handsome salary then the field of occupational therapy would be a good option for you. According to the Bureau of labor, the demand for the occupational therapists is expected to rise at an increasing rate till 2018. This speculation has motivated many youngsters towards the field occupational therapy. Now, you may have a question- “how to become an occupational therapist”?

For becoming an occupational therapist, you need to complete some post-secondary certification in occupational therapy, psychology, or social work. These courses are available in various technical colleges and universities known as occupational therapy schools. The course duration for the degree program on occupational therapy would be for 4 years. If you wish to have additional courses then the extended program may last for 5 to 6 years. You will be made to do some fieldwork for around 2 years after the completion of degree to become a licensed physical therapist.
